As we all know children learn through play. Whether it be pretend play, playing games or active play,  we do not underestimate the importance of play-time on a growing child's mind and body. The children of Burgess Extended Day receive both free-play and structured-play throughout the afternoon. Age appropriate activities are scheduled with the flexibility allowed to respond to the needs of each individual child and their various ages. Activities that may be available to students, include, but are not limited to the following:

Books and story-time, Legos, music and dancing, dress up, arts and crafts, puzzles, play dough, coloring, painting, science, board games, puppets, motor activities, cooking, computer time, pretend play, blocks, manipulatives, outdoor play, group games and activities and drama, gym activities.
