Mission Statement

The Burgess Extended Day Program is a child-centered enrichment program designed for the students of Burgess Elementary School. The goal of the program is to maximize students' interactions with BED staff to ensure that each child has an opportunity to pursue individual interests and hobbies in a safe, nurturing environment. The program is based on respect and responsibility, and while we are an extended day entity, we are guided by the code of conduct outlined in the Burgess Student Handbook. Via a wide variety of activities, the program provides opportunities for students to participate in outdoor sports, indoor games, art projects, social studies and science units, computer use, homework completion, and exciting field trips. We strive to provide positive educational and social learning opportunities for all children while maintaining positive communication with parents, Burgess Teachers, and community members.
